kickstarterMend the Marble: Fixing the Planet One Week at a Time is a great museum store item to sell to parents and grandparents as gifts for the holidays or to extend the message of your exhibits on the environment and sustainability.

Please check out and share this link to our Card Deck of Sustainability Activities "Mend the Marble" now a STAFF PICK! on Kickstarter. Good for families, museum afterschool programs, and schools.

Thanks for your support for this project and the planet.

Mend the Marble is a deck of 52 green-idea cards for anyone who wants to fix the planet one step, one week at a time.

If you’re looking for green activities for family events, afterschool programs and vacation camp, they’re all in here. Your museum's or school's eco-club can choose one activity each week to practice together at your place and theirs. The activities are appropriate for young children, teens, and adults, who want to reduce, reuse, recycle and repurpose their way to a greener way of life.

Mend the Marble: Fixing the Planet One Week at a Time is a great museum store item to sell to parents and grandparents as gifts for the holidays or to extend the message of your exhibits on the environment and sustainability.

Having a deck of ready ideas allows anyone to select activities at their own pace and for a whole group or family as a shared project, or for everyone to tackle separately. They can choose at random or sort and choose a whole bunch of seasonal activities or a few vacation-week distractions.

The deck is also a great gift for colleagues and their families, and for your child's teacher. Maybe you'd like to make a donation to your favorite educational nonprofit to encourage them to go green. A four-package set is a great resource for your museum, school and your library.

When you’re all done with the 52 activities in the deck, be sure to make sure the deck gets reused by sharing it with another family or group to help them go green.

Environmental sustainability is critical for Zoos, Museums, Gardens, Aquariums and Historic Properties because it:

  • creates healthy places for people and collections,
  • saves money and resources for mission-critical uses,
  • models charitable purpose and responsibility
  • and is a 21st-century movement that will overtake us as we fail to understand it.

It's easier than you think, and more important than you realize.

It's time to assess your organization, develop your sustainability plan, and then implement sustainable practices that fit your needs and your community’s needs.

Let me help you adapt your institution to the new standard of best practice.
